"whatsername" - it all started back in june 2006, five ambitious musicians with different music style background getting together doing some band practise down in a basement with the only purpose - to rock out a club within their neighbourhood with pure, hardcore punkrock-funkstyle music. this gig has been an unexpected success and the idea was born to play more constantly together as a band, covering pop-punkrock songs just to proof that austrias punkrock scene is more alive than ever. this ended up in several gigs within famous rock clubs in austria, the “spring break tour” in april 07, freaked out fans and pleased promoters - and the energy and creativity to start writing own songs about daily life, social and political issues and of course LOVE. the first single - punk`d - was released in november 2007 on “deafjames records”. today the guys still keep on writing and producing the first album (release end 2008) and the video production for “punk`d” (release march 08) for more band related information check out www.whatsername.at or www.myspace.com/whazzername
